Chiropractic Adjustments
An evaluation of the spine using motion and static palpation methods. A precise pressure is applied to the spine, or other joint in the body, to remove a subluxation (interference). The adjustments are typically administered manually (by hand) or by instrument. Dr. B is proficient in Diversified, Thompson, Gonstead and Webster techniques, as well as Activator Methods.
X-ray Examinations
Radiographs are taken on site with a state-of-the-art Digital X-ray machine. Images can be captured and processed instantly. The results will be reviewed and discussed by the doctor on your second visit.
Initial Examinations/Re-evaluations
An initial exam is the very first exam that is performed upon any new patient that has never been to our office before. It is composed of a thorough history, x-rays, spinal scan, and examination; along with therapies if needed.
Re-evaluations are a simplified version of the first exam and are done about every month during an active treatment plan.
CLA Spinal Scanning
This type of spinal scan is included on every new patient exam (including babies). It is also performed in re-evaluations and update exams. There are two methods of scanning that we utilize:
NeuroThermal- this is a thermographic scanner that measures regional temperature differentials along the spine. A significant shift in temperature can indicate the presence of a subluxation and the need for correction.
NeuroPulse- this is a reader that scans heart rate variability (HRV). Simply put, it measures the global adaptability of the nervous system; how well one adapts between a restful state and a stressful state.
Intersegmental Traction (IST) Therapy
Lovingly called the Spinalator, this is a therapy we offer at our clinic. It is a table that has a roller along the midline and gently massages up and down the spine while the patient lays on their back.
TENS Unit Physiotherapy
This is another therapy we offer at our clinic. It stands for Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation. It is mostly used to block pain signals and calm spasmed muscles.
Rocktape™ Applications
This is a type of support tape we use on our patients. We mostly use this tape along the spine, but can be used on other places such as shoulders and elbows. It can stay on for 5-7 days through sweat and showering. It gives support as well as reduces swelling.
Supplementation Counseling
Dr. B likes to utilize Standard Process, and Klaire Labs, as well as Natural Vitality products. Ask her about these on your next appointment.
